You know, Lindy, when this blog is silent, it was only because we all knew (with the exception of Gerard and Jeannie) that you should have a series of consecutive blog entries to contain your newfound blogging excitement. Some of us have been on blog-dom for years and so have either gotten tired of it or have now learnt that perseverance is key to blogging. But just like new Christians ecstatic with their newfound faith (I remember someone calling it the "euphoria of a born again conversion" or something like that), everyone steps aside to allow you to fully express your joy at blogging.
OK, that's just nonsense. I was actually just lazy.
But when Spain, Ghana, the Netherlands and Australia are all kicked out of the World Cup due to refereeing error or just plain bad luck, it calls for some blogging. Some resentment must be released and anger ventilated (or I might have to see the pastoral staff for deliverance). Just so you know, I'm not the only one fuming at all the injustice we see in the World (Cup) today. Sepp Blatter (the FIFA President) said that the Portugal-Holland match referee deserved a yellow card himself. My long time kindy friend said that Fabio Grosso (the Italian who was 'fouled' in the match against Australia which led to the penalty that cost Australia the game) should learn competitive diving. I'd say, he deserves an Oscar for best actor. Adriano and Ze Roberto (Brazil) were offside when they scored and Ghana was unlucky not to have got their ball into the net with a powerful Mensah header that hit Brazilian goalie Dida's foot (lucky for him). By the way, if you still haven't understood the idea of 'offside', don't worry. Apparently, this particular footballing offense is the hardest to understand and is the bane of all women who are only now trying to understand football with their brothers/boyfriends/husbands.
Ahh, my anger has been ventilated and my frustration diminished.
By the way, one of my goals for the holidays is to learn to speak Mandarin. I know, I should have learnt this way earlier in life but I figured, no harm trying now. And just the day after I wrote that goal down on the whiteboard in my room, I found Chinese Pod. Pretty cool, I'd say. Go check it out.
Anyway, I'll be off. Have a good day!
why, yarn?
