the much anticipated holiday spanning the 26th of june till the 28th of july!

ok, so where did i stop.. oh ya, from my last paper on the 26th of june. Then greetings to Siew ching on the 28th... in that short span (5 days) we've covered the main sights i.e. sydney aquarium, eastwood 'duck rice' which spanned my joyful week ahead (more on that later), tour of macquarie uni (even she admits its as big as UQ's) darling harbour, sydney opera house, central station, pancake on the rocks, manly beach, fish market, max brenners, marigold yum cha (with the Lim's and Anders), krispy kreme, sticky candy, Powerhouse at church, Hillsong City, Hillsong Hills. Indeed it was a buzzing week not forgetting my prompt punctuality at the domestic airport.. i almost ran into her when she was utter speechless.. wondering why i was at the arrivals gate inside the terminal.. (apparently you're not suppose to but hey, i got in!) hehe...

so then the conference began on the monday and boy was it chaotic. poor siew ching had to leave at 6.45am coz my friend was giving her a lift while i spent a bomb on public transport to get into the acer arena at 2.45pm to set up for kidsong world. coming back was fine with dan and my friend who gladly offered to give us a lift back home.

it's so nice to meet old friends and pastors from afar.... Ps. Lee Choo and Ps. Chew came and grab my hand amidst thousands of ppl as we had a quick chat. It's great to be encouraged by your pastor as well "its amazing to see you and dan volunteering". He made my day! and of cause aunty lee choo's warm hugs and great words of encouragement. Daniel Koh... man he look real snazzy in his velvet jacket and gelled hair. haha... Ps. Peter, Ps. Aynee, Karl and Alyssa.. was awesome! Taylors coursemates and GIS mates as well. It's funny, each year at conference i am bound to reunite with old friends... how amazing is that :)

anyway.. so the conference was great despite me attending only 2 of the night rallies. Matthew Barnetts and the closing ceremony. Kidsong world on the ohter hand was awesome. it was so rewarding.. creating friendships with the other volunteers, pastors, and making friends with the kids.. its a mix bag, u have the adorable angelic lil' girls and the lil' rascals who would bite a hole in a cup filled with water and giggling oh so innocently after that. kids who would crawl under the table to grab a handful of biscuits and then step out innocently trying their upmost best to stay out of trouble. it was funny and entertaining listening to their most ridiculous excuses. hahah... they're kids afterall remember.

the conference ended on friday leaving us one day to do our last minute shopping for the ppl dearest to us. haha.... had lunch at pancakes then hang around circular quay. aaron joined us as well then we had our last dinner at dan's new place at artamon. it was great! caught our flight the next morning. siew ching leaving to brizzy and me back to KL.

arrive sunday evening and was warmly greeted by my sis and my genius cousin (all the way from US) who was chauffered by my 'never fails to crack me up' brother who drove in circles coz he forgot we lived in PJ and followed the signs to KL, being shouted by my sis frantically a million times.. (turn right!) we even revisited KLIA after we left coz he made another innoncent mistake. spent like a quarter more unnecessarily on the smart card thingy coz he repeatedly made the wrong turns; therefore costing us to pay the toll again and again. He was happy! he kept laughing away while my sis resorted to silence and didnt say anything.. she wanted to save her breath. alas we came home and i was greeted by the rest of my cousins and aunties.

it was nice reuniting with everybody... after 7 years of not seeing one another... it was good. so on monday we took them around kl and stuff our faces with food (local food). on tuesday 5am we left to the airport (super far away) to redang. it was great! we ate more ice kacang (almost 1 after every dish), went swimming in the pool and beach, went sunbathing, went snorkelling with the fishes and eels and baby turtles, ate more seafood, overall, it was awesome! weather was fantastic!

came back on thursday night; 12am. took a shower and went to bed. woke up the next morning, packed my suitcase, went for breakfast for my 'pan mee' at OUG, came back, called lindy, went to church- got a tour of the church whilst feeling lost for a while, had a quick catch up with Ps's, Lindy, Kay and Angeline. gave the candies to her for simply united :p then left. went to gleaneagles to deliver 2 huge toys to my doctor friend. played with the daughter (ooh, is she so cute and cheeky) and then went to the hospital for tea with her mother... told her bout my course, taught her more finger plays which reminds me i owe her an email. yiaks! came home, got ready for dinner and then we left to Inagiku.

saturday morning, went to amcorp mall for a hair cut, came back, packed some more, was tempted by my bro to watch superman. wasted 2 and a half hours in front of his computer whilst gobbling turkish delight. then took my shower, scurried down for dinner and left to the airport in the next 10 mins.

saturday night: arrived at KLIA, checked in, kissed mum and hugged sis good bye (nope, no tears were shed) and went in to the lounge. yea, i was travelling on business class baybeh! and i was on that special plane that allows you to recline your seats all the way. awesome!

sunday morning: touched down at Kingsford Smith Sydney airport, got my bags... checked out and took the bus and train back to Marsfield. came home, smelt the room... so great to be home. then slept for the next 2- 4 hours.

sunday evening: called my friend to tell her that i've arrived. a while later, was awoken by my friend who offered to fetch me to church. so i agreed, showered and left.

came monday, woke up unwantingly to work. yea my 2 week internship at a pre school started. i had to be there at 8.30am... so i caught the bus at 8.06 and reached there a few minutes before time. was overwhelmed by the kids. they were so adorable. we did so many things together. we went hunting for lady bugs, played catching, did jigsaw puzzles, danced, read books, played with toys, did art and craft, played with sand, and so much more. it was a rewarding 2 weeks. something i would never forget. got to know the rest of my team including my director who ahem, also is a macq uni BeD graduate which was great! met the parents, got to know their kids. yea, it was an unbelievable 2 weeks. the children were great, a few naughty ones but hey, that's normal. they were very loving... grabbing my hand and fighting to seat on my lap and willingly allowing me to join their games. even my director was stunned to see me so warmthly welcome by the kids on the first day of school.

during the 2 weeks, i went for swimming at the olympic park (where sydney olympics were held) with my friend, went to church for connect leader's leadership training, and shared on the importance of friendship and accountability at connect on tuesday.

2 weeks ended on the 28th... had a lil' break then taught at sunday school (was great). then uni started the next week.

in a nutshell i would say it was a productive funfilled holiday.

till the next entry... please take care!

btw, i forgot my password for my blogspot (silly, i know) so till i remember, i shall continue to post on this weblog.

upcoming events: docs appt (i'm ill), 2 friends 21st a week apart and uni assignments....

catcha later gators!

it never fails to amaze me how females can be so detailed.

a guy like me would probably say something like this, "went back home for holidays. it was great! had lotsa fun. like loads of it."

end of story. haha!
