ChRisE 2nd PoST - A Little Update

Hey y'all! ChRisE here, giving you a little dose of my *humzness and ever satisfying things my dear cell wants to know about me. October's been an interesting month, being busy with assignments, my birthday passing by, Simply United coming down and the one week break I'm on right now. Putting it simply, a lot of things have been going on for me this month.

Well, as some of you may know, may birthday passed not too long ago, just a day before Simply United came down to Tronoh. I didn't do much for my birthday, in fact I can't remember much about what I did that day but I do remember working. =) One thing that I clearly remembered about that day though was I ruined my own birthday surprise. Here's the thing, I have two very good friends in my university, Jia Lin and Wei Vern (yes, both are girls [an accurate representation of my *humzterism]). I had dinner with Vern that night, she asked me if I wanted to hang out later outside campus, a normal affair for me, I said "Sure." having no idea that it was part of a planned birthday surprise.

So later that night, I was just hanging around the cafe near my hostel waiting for her. Then, it happenned. I saw Vern around but I didn't call her because she was busy. Somehow, even after she was done, she must have been optically impaired, blind or just to blur to notice I was sitting at a table parallel to hers. I saw and heard her talking to my other good friend, Jia Lin, telling her about the 'birthday surprise' outside. Here's the thing, Jia Lin knew I was sitting at the table right next to theirs but must have somehow forgotten, because she didn't even tell Vern to speak more softly. Not only that, Vern then took out her phone to call me. I answered the phone, wondering if she'd notice me then and she took a full five seconds to realise that I was so close to her. Then get this, she then turned to Jia Lin and asked "Did he hear what I said?" VERY VERY VERY CLEARLY. She didn't say it once, but TWICE. At that point I just couldn't help but just turn my face for a bit and produce a smile and perhaps some laughter. To be honest, it was quite an amusing experience.

So, after that, myself, Vern and Jia Lin went out of campus, not too far, just at a mamak about 500 metres away from the campus enterance. Now, earlier during dinner, as a cover for the birthday surprise, she said she wanted company because she needed to talk to the mamak owner to see if she could borrow umbrellas for an event she was involved in (it sounds absurd to the average reader but if you're in my university, that kind of excuse is pretty valid). She really did mean what she said and she did talk to those people. The end result of it was that we had to hang out at the mamak as part of an obligation to an agreement she reached with the mamak owners. I found out later that we weren't even supposed to be at the mamak. We were supposed to be at another food place nearby for the birthday surprise but even that didn't turn out, hahahahhaha! I tell you, super sad la, hahahahhaha. But as I said earlier, I wasn't expecting so much so I was actually very much able to appreciate the fact I could just chill and hang out with two of my close friends in uni. That was the best thing about that day really. It was a nice effort, hahaha.

Well, there's more for me to write, particularly about the Simply United trip down to Ipoh and Tronoh for soya beaning, chickening and bean sprouting. However, I'm a little tired of typing so I'll save that for my next post. That's all for now, so long!
