I'm still trying to digest the fact that today is 1 January 2007! In my mind, what keeps playing is, "But it was just December...!" Talk about being in denial (roll eyes).
As i was heading to the airport, a friend gave me a verse to take back with me. Joshua 1:7 - Be strong and very courageous...When i read it, i thought "Wo...that sounds scary!" I was just thinking last night that i haven't really prepared my heart for 2007. I just felt i wasn't ready for all the challenges and uncertainties this new year will bring. Frustrating! I want to start off the year enthusiastic. Strong.
This morning i read this commentary from the Everyday Life Bible and it greatly encouraged me. Joyce Meyer comments about Joshua and the Israelites moving on after the death of Moses.

...they may not have felt prepared to step out to new things, but God knew they were ready. It is actually a good thing when we do not "feel" ready, because then we are more likely to totally lean on God. If we feel self-sufficient, God can't really use us.
New things always seem frightening, but soon they will become old things, and God will have another "new thing" on the horizon for our lives. We need to grow accustomed to stepping out into new things. The more we do, the more we realise that we don't have to be comfortable to be obedient.
Remember the good things from your past, but do not get stuck there. God is always doing a new thing! When God called Abraham to a new place, he did not even think about where he was to go. He simply trusted God because he knew God was faithful. Do not be afraid to release and walk away from what God is finished with; He has wonderful new things waiting for you!
May it encourage you too should you be feeling a bit blur-blur like me =)
And lastly, i didn't get to say a proper goodbye to some. It's been so good spending 5 weeks home and just being able to be such a part of Simply again. You made my holidays more memorable! I really see such a freshness in Simply United. Don't stop making that difference for Him ya.
It's my last semester as a student (ahhh....). I'm going to seize the moment kau-kau. Have a blessed new year!!!
