If you took the time to sit through the sermon during 2nd service this morning, you would have heard (but probably disregarded) the following phrase: "stupid, stupid Lehmann". Forgive the preacher. He's a pastor :)
You see, pastor is a football fan (like that's new news) but once in a while, it reveals itself on the pulpit. At least, he gets the wake-up-early-morning-to-watch-football kind of people laughing and identifying themselves. But you would also realise that such random blurts only happens after a big game, with a big blunder, by a (fairly) big goalkeeper.
For the uninitiated or hardly interested, he was referring to the UEFA Champions League final between Barcelona and Arsenal early Thursday morning. I know this cell member happens to be an Arsenal fan. And so are my two brothers.
I, however, am a sympathetic Barcelona fan. Yes, we won. Sadly, it didn't match the excitement I had stayed awake for. It was a disappointing 11 vs 10 man game. Lehmann, the Arsenal goalkeeper, was red-carded and sent off in the first half for a foul. The rest of the game, they say, is a red mark in the Champions League's 50-year history.
Much to my delight however, is the fact that I don't have to go bald. You see, I made a bet that if Arsenal wins, I would shave bald and my Arsenal fan friend would treat me and a few others for a sumptious seafood dinner in Klang. Unfortunately Arsenal lost. So no lunch, and no baldhead walking into an exam hall. I know you'd kill for that, since you've already seen your cell leader's bald disposition on friendster!
It is time for me to log off. So I shall end with my review of the best players in the Champions League final. If they formed a team on their own, this would be the lineup:
Team name - Arselona (4-4-2 formation)
Strikers - Thierry Henry, Samuel Eto'o
Midfielders - Fredrik Ljungberg, Cesc Fabregas, Ronaldinho and Henrik Larsson
Defenders - Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole, Kolo Toure, Juliano Belletti
Goalkeeper - Manuel Almunia
Reserves - Terje Hauge (the famous Norwegian match referee)
Now that that's off my chest, I can concentrate on the upcoming exams.
why, yarn?
